Drug Free Moore County is working hard to help residents properly store and dispose of prescription medications. The Centers for Disease Control has initiated a new program Up and Away and Out of Sight, an educational program to remind families of the importance of safe medicine storage. According to the CDC, each year more than 60,000 children end up in emergency rooms because they got into medicines while their parent or caregiver was not looking. Remember if you need to get rid of unwanted medications, the Moore County Sheriff's Office and the Aberdeen and Pinehurst police departments have drop boxes to collect and dispose of unwanted medications.
