Drug Free Moore County is bringing Milton Creagh to town to speak to parents about everything they need to know to keep their children drug-free. Creagh, known as "Big Milton," will speak from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 8 at the Aberdeen Recreation Station. His program, Parenting Prevention, reaffirms parents as the most critical component in their child's development and ability to remain drug free. Creagh discusses practical, commonsense ideas in parenting efforts that really work. All parents are encouraged to attend this free event.

I don't know who Milton Creagh is but I do hope his message is a good one. The BEST one being to NOT LIE or be a HYPOCRITE about drugs, their effects and their consequences. Their "consequences" being both GOOD and BAD. Drugs cannot constantly be demonized because kids see right thru that one. Many of the parents I have known who've demonized drugs to their children have had children who have become sadly very addicted. Several in Jail/Prison because of their parents LIE'S. It's time for AMERICA to stop being stupid and to deal with drugs as smart adults should and not like dumb spoiled rotten lying kids. I never lied to my son about drugs. He saw what damage they did to people but also at times what good they've done. He is a hard worker and responsible citizen who's not interested in recreational drugs; he lost one of his best friend's not long after they graduated from Pinecrest. It has haunted him ever since.
