Ban of K-2 and MPDV goes into effect June 1 Please help spread the word in your networks! These synthetic drugs mimic already illegal drugs (such as marijuana and cocaine) but often have even worse side effects. They are often called “incense” or “bath salts” and labeled not for human consumption. Sale and manufacture will be a felony. Possession will be a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the amount. Channel 14 in Raleigh anticipates highlighting this issue on their weekly Political Connection show. Also, the Petroleum and Convenience Marketers agreed to distribute the Child Fatality Task Force attached press release to their members.

It is specific synthetic cannabinoids and like chemical compounds found within some of the k2 herb blends which are being banned, not herbal incense itself. Some k2 smoke blends do not contain anything of the sort and so may continue to be sold in stores. Some seem to be confused by the fact that some k2 incense blends are still being sold and that is why. They do not contain anything which violates any bans so consumers may continue to buy k2 as long as that holds true. It looks as though http://www.k2incense.org has several blends that are legal everywhere.
