My youngest daughter woke up yesterday morning asking me if we could go get donuts for breakfast, she doesn't usually ask for much so I told her to wait and see how grumbalina ( the teenager ) feels when she wakes up. We made it out the door without too much fuss and headed for the donut shop, this is not something we do often so it was a special treat for all of us. Just as we were sitting down with our order I heard the drivethru bell ding, I looked up to see a minivan sitting at the window placing an order, I didn't think much else of it and went back to enjoying my cream filled, calorie loaded breakfast, then I noticed the minivan pulled sideways in front of the shop taking up 3 parking places, a woman got out carrying a bag and came inside, I heard her ask if she could get a brown eyed donut instead, unbelievable, if one of my kids, had complained about the eye color on their smiley face donut, there is no way I would have gone inside and asked them to exchange it, I probably would have told them, " if you don't like it, don't eat it" or "hand it to me, I'll eat it" I think this is what wrong with some kids these days, they never learn how to deal with disappointment because they are catered to. Maybe it is easier to just stop and fix the little problem right then but in my opinion you are setting yourself up for a major headache, when they get older. As we were leaving both of my girls thanked me for taking them out for donuts, my girls are awesome

Couldn't agree more with you. Parents are currently raising the most entitled young brats I've ever seen in my life. They will be forces to be reckoned with as young adults.

the donut shop in town makes donuts with smiles and m&ms for eyes, some have orange eyes, some are brown. I think what bothers me is that we taught our girls when they were very young to say thankyou,(even to each other) but especially when we went out to eat or did something special for them, we wanted to make sure they knew to say it when out with a friends parents or with their grandparents but it seems like some kids just don't appreciate anything you do for them, we don't have to listen to complaints about little things, they know better, so when I see someone exchanging a orange eyed donut for a brown eyed one it just tells me that kid is spoiled rotten.
