Yesterday due to weather and severe thunderstorms we landed short of our destination at Melbourne, Fl. This A.M. it was beautiful, clear, smooth air, visability unlimited. We got to the airport at 7 a.m. flew out to Ft. Myers at 7:30 a.m. Arrived at FMY at 8:30 a.m. It was already heating up and isolated thunderstorms were predicted for the p.m.

First we needed to check in with the race officals and show all of our credentials, license, medical, logbook, a special certificate to fly within the Washington, DC airspace. Then it was time for the airplane inspection, 4 guys decended on the plane like ants. One climbed inside, one took off the cowling, one asked to see the logbooks, and the other help with the inspection getting tools. The plane was returned to the tiedown area, and we were allowed to get our luggage out, and depart for the hotel the Crown Plaza in Ft. Myers about 5 miles from the airport.

A barbeque of chicken, pork and ribs along with the fixings was served that night in the hangar along with a great cake for dessert.

Friday's supporters were the following: Arlene Feldman, Doris Miller, Barbara Feldman, Stan Circuk, Carleen Genna, Ron & Doris Abbate, Lynn Sheppard, & Pete & Lillian Frisko.

Today's supporters were, Diana Dade, Dot Buckanin, Dee Richardson, Nicky Berlen, &Steve & Kathy Luckhaus thanks to all of them we made it to the contest & are ready to go on Tuesday. Lots of meetings coming up the next two days.
