The weather has not improved greatly today, overnight some storms and then partially clearing today, but for tomorrow the race may be sitting here in Iowa City for another day. We got word that the hotel still had some rooms available for Tuesday night but we would have to double up as there were not enough for everyone. We decided to team up with the two gals from the Kitty Hawk Chapter of the 99s and have a room for us to stay in for the night thank goodness.
Next problem to solve is the gusty conditions and possible tornados that could occur. So I ventured out to the airport to tiedown the plane better. Not much else you can do but check ropes and the metal parts that go into the ground below the wings and tail.
Another weather briefing will take place at 5 p.m. for tomorrow's weather we have our fingers crossed that there will be a possibility of getting out tomorrow in the p.m. and do at least one or two legs. That would be Brookings, SD and Jamestown, ND. They are also saying that there will be a cold front behind the storms and may be in the 40's. Wow no one has clothes for that cold weather.!!!!!
