The Sandhills Community College's annual scholarship golf tournament was once again a great success, thanks to the hard work of a lot of people. For those of us who are lucky enough to play in these kinds of events, the SCC/Coke event is one of the best anywhere. Played on two great courses, Pine Needles and Mid-Pines, which btw are donated for the day by the family, the event draws a lot of great golfers and is a showcase on how to put on a fund raising golf tournament. Hats off to Unilever, the local Coca Cola franchise, the Bonefish Grill and its employees, Panera Bread, and a host of others who chip in to make it one of the best charity events anywhere. And a proud moment for us; for the first time ever (as far as I can tell), The Pilot's team of Dodson, Chase, Krahnert, and Taylor took home hardware, finishing third place net. Publisher David Woronoff was on vacation this year and missed the event. We hope he had a good time!
