If you haven't gotten 'round to it, go see Alice in Wonderland while it's still at the theatre and in 3D. It's a pretty accurate depiction of the mind's eye vision of the book, but these visual effects are stunning, particularly with those cool 50s black rimmed 3D glasses. There is a premium for the 3D of course, but it's worth every penny. Movie makers are getting that down cold and the effect on viewing is truly amazing. I saw Avatar a second time, on HDTV but without the effects, and it's just another movie, not something to remember. You'll love Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in this one, too.

I totally agree with your assessment of Alice...I was BLOWN away by the effects. It was very neat to see the reactions by fellow movie goers when images "came at you". 3D cinematography has really come a LOOOng way from the red and blue paper glasses with the fuzzy pictures.
I haven't gotten around to seeing Avatar but mainly because I'm not a James Cameron fan...

James Cameron is brilliant, however, he has an ego the size of Texas. I haven't seen Avatar but I am curious. AIW-Tim Burton is very unique.
