U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers announced her intention to run for re-election in congressional District 2 Feb. 20 in downtown Southern Pines. Moore County will become part of the district next year under new redistricting boundaries. Ellmers, a Harnett County Republican, spoke to about 30 supporters outside the old library building during a quick stop in Moore County. She plans to officially file for re-election Feb. 22.
