Joe Gibbons, a retired New York City firefighter couldn't shake the immense loss he felt on Sept. 11, 2001 as so many firefighters and police officers died trying to save victims of the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. So in order to keep the legacy of those lost alive, he built a tribute wall in his Pinehurst garage honoring firefighters in New York City and all over the United States as a daily reminder of the sacrifice that was made on 9/11 and the significant contributions that have been made since.

What an amazing tribute. My father is also retired FDNY, he had retired just a year before 9/11. He was also devastated that day, and felt a sense of guilt that he wasn't there. I remember he and my mother going to funerals for months after that horrible day. Thank you Mr Gibbons for such a wonderful memorial.
