Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills Presents the Picquet Music Festival

On April 13, The Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills hosted the Picquet Music Festival, a musical competition that celebrates the club's long-held belief that music plays an important role in education. Eleven students from Moore County's four high schools competed. Jacob Daniel, a senior at Union Pines High School, took home the top trophy along with a $2,000 scholarship. Pinecrest High School students Jentry Womack and Sarah Maccio placed second and third, earning a $1,500 scholarship and a $1,000 scholarship. The eight runners-up also received $100 scholarships.

'Talented Musicians'

The Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills enjoyed listening to musical performances from 11 Moore County students during the 30th annual Picquet Music Festival April 13.
