Historical Preservation at Malcolm Blue Farm

Last Tuesday, members of the Malcolm Blue Historical Society's Board of Directors toured the grounds of Malcolm Blue Farm with two representatives from the North Carolina State Historical Preservation Office to establish a list of priorities for maintenance on the farm. The board members were especially concerned about making repairs to the grist mill building, in which fresh corn meal has been made in the past for the farm's annual farm skills festival. Watch to hear Jeff Arph evaluating the structure with board president Pam Dannelley.

I couldn’t get the video to work, but that is okay –been to the farm many times. The Malcolm Blue Farm and the annual festivals are so special to the people of Aberdeen and all of Moore County. I think it is wonderful the state is stepping in and assisting with some input on how to keep our special treasures for generations to come!
