Blue Farm Reopening Grounds The Malcolm Blue Farm in Aberdeen will open its grounds today after closing for the winter months in October because of budget constraints.
The museum, which includes an authentically furnished farmhouse, will resume its regular operating hours, which are 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Board member Linda Jarrett said that the farm closed during the winter to use its limited resources to pay utilities. Now that the farm is open again, the board will concentrate on raising additional funds to pay for renovations in the neighborhood of $20,000.
Jarrett said that the board will continue to offer more programs for school children, which can be incorporated into school curricula.
The farm will
also host its annual fish fry from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 25. The cost of each plate is $8 and includes fish, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, hush puppies and a drink. Deliveries to six or more can also be made.
