Dr. William F. Lee, 64, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at his home in Southern Pines.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines with the Rev. Kenneth Blease officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., today (Friday, Aug. 17), at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Dr. Lee was born in Hamlet to the late Elizabeth Mercer Lee and Oscar F. Lee. Among the many degrees he received were a bachelor's degree in psychology from UNC Pembroke, a master's degree in theology from Duke University and a doctorate of ministry from Oral Roberts University. He also held a doctorate of nutripathy from the American College of Nutripathy, in Scottsdale, Ariz., a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy, and a certification from the National Christian Counselors Association. He was a charter member of American Association of Christian Counselors, a member of the Christian Association of Psychological Studies, a certified marriage and family therapist with the American Society of Christian Therapist's, and was a priest of the gospel ministry of the Holy Episcopal Church.

"Dr. Lee is remembered as a lover of knowledge who actively sought the face of God in every aspect of his life," says a family member. "It was his great intellect and active pursuit of knowledge that set him apart."

Dr. Lee served
in active ministry for 38 years in many parts of the world. His Evangelistic Association enabled him to reach farther to help others than his service in the church. His life was dedicated to the service of others.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra; one daughter, Rhonda Locklair and her husband, Thad, and their son, Levi, of Greenville, N.C. One son, James Lee and his wife and son of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Lynda Garrison and her husband, Sonny, of Hamlet; and one brother, the Rev. David Lee and his wife, Ilene, of Rockingham.

Memorials may be made to WFLEA, Inc. 213 Edinboro Dr., Southern Pines, NC 2838. WFLEA is a nonprofit organization started by Dr. Lee and his family in 1987, to broaden the outreach of their ministry.

Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
