WEB: Police Caution Against Scam Artist

The Southern Pines Police Department has advised the community to be aware that a small-time con artist has been operating in Southern Pines of late.

According to a department press release, the suspect will knock on doors in residential areas and ask for money to get a ticket out of town.

Police say that several citizens have fallen victim to the scam. The department asks that people call the police if anyone approaches with such a request.
