The Pinecrest Patriots indoor track and field teams traveled to Winston-Salem Saturday to compete in the Champion Fast Track High School Invitational held at JDL Fast Track.
Carmen Alder was the highlight of the meet for the Patriots, winning the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:58.94, placing her in the No. 1 spot in North Carolina.
Asia Adams had an excellent performance in the triple jump, earning the fifth-place spot with her jump of 34-foot-3.5.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Anna Ettrich, Grace VonCannon, Maya DiFrischia and Sophie Stanfield combined to run an 11:40.80, placing them in the fourth spot overall.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Izzy Vibbert, Emory Bradley, Alder and Helen West were stellar, snatching the sixth-place spot overall with a time of 4:24.32.
AJ Williams was the standout performer for the Patriot boys, clocking a 4:29.48 in the 1,600-meter run, earning him the third-place spot overall and qualifying him for the state meet.
TJ Gaddy also had an amazing performance in the triple jump, placing third with his jump of 43-1.
Freshman Adrian Archer was outstanding in the boys’ 1,000, crossing the line in 2:44.69, landing him in the sixth-place spot overall.
Eric Jingle was stellar in the high jump, earning the sixth-place overall with a jump of 5-6.
The boys’ 4x400 relay team of Adrian Archer, Matthew Bauer, Champ Lindahl, and Williams combined to run a great race, finishing sixth overall, coming across in 3:43.61.
The Patriots will travel to Reid Ross Classical School in Fayetteville Saturday to compete in the South View Polar Bear Meet.
