Pilot Preferences: Best Volunteers You Can Ask For

Moore County Volunteers

One of Moore County’s greatest natural resources is its people. This interesting and diverse collection of individuals who come from all walks of life and from all over our great country seem to have one overwhelming trait in common — they are willing to step in and lend a hand. And, when asked to help, these volunteers respond willingly and cheerfully.

Whether they are asked to serve concessions or pick up trash, this year we have seen faithful volunteers lending their time at events such as the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, the Jimmy V Classic Celebrity Golf Classic and the U.S. Kids Golf Tournament. They’ve been on hand to build gardens, paint walls and set up computer labs during the United Way of Moore County’s Day of Caring. These individuals also cheerily take their therapy dogs to schools, assisted living communities and other community events.

Other individuals volunteer at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Sandhills Community College, the Woman’s Exchange and at local businesses as part of the Moore County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

We salute all those hard-working Moore County volunteers and thank you for all that you do for your communities.
