Empty Bowls, Full Hearts
Students at Carthage Elementary School are making ceramic bowls that will hopefully help feed those less fortunate in their community. The school will host a dinner March 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. where guests can purchase a meal and a bowl for $10. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit a food pantry in Carthage. Third-graders from Lisa Moore's class were busy finishing up their bowls Feb. 28 with art teacher Jennifer Mattison, who has led the school-wide effort.
