Paving Broad Street

The N.C. Department of Transportation closed sections of Broad Street in Southern Pines between 6 pm. and 6 a.m. during the week of July 8. On July 9, workers from Delta Contracting Inc. were grinding down asphalt between Pennsylvania Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue. The work, which is part of a $1.5 million resurfacing contract awarded earlier this year to S. T. Wooten Corp., of Wilson, for improvements on Broad Street and other roads in Moore and Lee counties, is expected to wrap up by the end of the week weather permitting.
