Candlelight Vigil Raises Local Awareness of Homelessness

Residents gathered at Downtown Park in Southern Pines Dec. 21 for a candlelight vigil remembering the thousands of people who have died in North Carolina while homeless. St. Joseph of the Pines partnered with Family promise, Friend to Friend and the Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care to present the event. Attendees were asked to bring clothing donations to St. Joseph's "We Can Do Moore" semitrailer, where the service was held. The event was held to honor those lost on National Homeless Memorial Day and raise local awareness for homelessness in Moore County.
