N.C. Literary Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony – Sunday, October 14, 2012
Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities was the venue for the 2012 North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Sunday, October 14. This year’s inductees included celebrated poet and novelist Maya Angelou, former state poet laureate Kathryn Stripling Byer, and 18th century explorer, naturalist John Lawson. Presenters and acceptors included Ed Wilson, Rosa Johnson, Sally Buckner, Phillip Manning, and David Brook, while readers of excerpts of the noted works included Jaki Shelton Green, Lee Smith, and Danny Bell.
