Village Tinkers with Downtown Plan Revisions
The Pinehurst Village Council approved small changes to its planned improvements to the downtown center but will not decrease the project’s size.
Village Improvement Projects Still on Hold
A village-proposed plan to move the downtown parking lot and open up the Village Green is on hold pending a decision from the Pinehurst Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) on whether or not to appeal a prior decision by the Board of Adjustment.
Pinehurst Improvements Back on Track
The board sent the item back to the Historic Preservation Commission and ordered it to approve the project, which calls for expansion of the downtown sand parking lot and changes to the Village Green in the area near Given Memorial Library and Tufts Archives.
Village Gets Approval for Historic District Projects
The Pinehurst Board of Adjustment was asked to weigh in on the matter after the village's Historic Preservation Commission rejected the original plan, saying it was incongruous with the historic district.
Cultural Landscape Report Stressed to Village Council
A cultural landscape report is an important document if the village of Pinehurst values and wants to maintain its National Historic Landmark designation, the council was told last week.
