Regarding the letter by Frank Lisco, “The Source of Bad News,” Dec. 16, I appreciate his willingness to call out the current crop of politicians, including the president, for exactly who and what they are: people playing on the fears and ignorance of citizens and sowing discord among them.

The Pilot has published letters that have been one-sided in their attacks on Democrats and blindly supportive of a president who attacks the Constitution of the United States and sounds alarmingly like a Fascist dictator.

Thank you, Mr. Lisco, and know that you speak for a sizable number of concerned citizens who will not turn a blind eye to the machinations of those people in power who support an obviously rogue president in order to further their interests and goals.

Donald Trump: “Least electable candidate” in 2016 according to the wizards of smart. Few of his voters were surprised that he won. His re-election in 2020 is already assured given the roaring economy and his already fulfilling nearly all campaign promises. The border wall was and remains his most important promise. He can leave the Feds shutdown and fire the nonessential employees as far as I’m concerned. Use their generous pay and benefits to pay for the wall instead.

“If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan. Annual insurance costs will drop by $2500 per family.” Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama said that during the runup to the 2008 campaign when he and Joe Biden defeated McCain and Palen. In context he was warning donors that the general
election campaign was going to get ugly. Very prophetic, not only as to the campaign run by the Republicans but also as to Obama's eight years in office by many including Trump with his simply untrue accusations as to Obama's country of birth, religeon not to mention his constant criticism of Obama while in office about golf, vacation and so on, except Trump has done more of that for which he criticized Obama. Deranged Trump Syndrome at its best.

Obama is gone, no sense in fighting over a meatless bone. Calls for impeachment, now that would prove interesting. For now Trump is still President, and he can take credit for what will be part of political history, the disassembling of the Democratic party as it once was. The disdain for one man has caused the unraveling of so many, it'd be funny, if it weren't so pathetic, although I still laugh about it. Never before have so many Socialist challenged the Democratic party. Trumps chances of being elected for a second term are doubtful, so he can play golf, on his own courses, any time, free. While the older Democrats are clapping like trained seals, they seem oblivious to the impending clubbing they will encounter during the campaigns where they will face off publicly with their Socialist party members. Will prove entertaining as they discuss just how and who will pay for this Socialist idealism and expanding government programs.

Trump will probably lose most of his properties, forfeited to the government as it recovers the hundreds of millions of dollars the Trump family conspired to avoid taxes on, per the NY Times investigation. Much of the expanding government programs will be paid for when the Democratic House, Senate, and President reverse the unnecessary and unwarranted tax cuts on the rich and super rich it passed and redirects the income stream it will then get to pay for medicare for all and the environmental new deal. This new deal, by the way, will generate several hundred of thousands of new well paying jobs, boosting the economy as much, perhaps more, than the tax cuts did.

Maybe the Socialist/Democrat controlled government will remove the Fed's taxation on my Social Security retirement benefits. Being penalized for having additional income due our tax laws, or having a spouse that continues in her career, that just sours me on having to pay for so many of the government programs being proposed by politicians that use those programs to advance their chances of being elected. The current field of those seeking the Presidency will be interesting to watch, which will mention my concerns, I doubt any.
