Gloria B. Bankovich, 85, of Southern Pines, formerly of Louisville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
She was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Santacroce) Margiotta. Gloria was a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its Women’s Guild in Southern Pines.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (James) Saunders; son, Frank J. (Barbara) Bankovich; grandchildren, Matthew Saunders, Mark (Lindsay) Saunders, Rebecca (Ivan) Hernandez and Thomas (Erin) Bankovich; great-grandchild, Alex Hernandez; and sister, Vera Moore.
Her husband, Frank Z. Bankovich, who passed away in 1995 and her sister, Elizabeth Drozda, preceded Gloria in death.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 11, at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Gloria’s family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio.
