Shirley Jean Freeman Whitaker, 59, of Aberdeen, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Shady Grove Christian Church, with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
She was born in Montgomery County to Sherman Freeman Jr. and Treva Allen Freeman. She worked in the medical field.
She is survived by her son, Colton Richardson, of Aberdeen; parents, Sherman Freeman Jr. and Treva Allen Freeman, of Ether; sister, Brenda Council and husband, Jimmy, of Southern Pines; and brother, Jerry Freeman and wife, Linda, of Marshall.
