Alvin Dean Holder, 61, of Carthage, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the FirstHealth Hospice House.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Powell Funeral Home chapel in Southern Pines, conducted by the Rev. Gregg Newton. Burial followed in Johnson Grove Cemetery. The family received friends at Powell Funeral Home prior to the service, beginning at noon.
He was a native of Moore County and was a son of the late Jackie Alvin Holder. He worked for many years as an electrician for Chisolm Electric in Aberdeen.
He is survived by four daughters and three sons; his mother, Lucille Scarboro Holder Danley, of Carthage; sisters Yvonne Holder, of Whispering Pines, and Patsy Martin, of Vass; and three grandchildren.
