The Rev. Stradford Thomas Snively, 83, of Laurinburg, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, with private inurnment at a later date.
Born Dec. 9, 1929, in Philadelphia, to the late William Ray and Dell Snively, he was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University and Union Theological Seminary and had served Presbyterian Churches in North and South Carolina throughout his career.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Sessoms Snively, of Laurinburg; one son, William B. Snively and his wife, Glenda, of Fayetteville; two daughters, Elizabeth Schiefelbein and her husband, Fernando, of Jacksonville, and Krista Snively and her husband, Eric Deaton, of Pinehurst; one grandson, Fernando Schiefelbein and his wife, Jacqueline, of Jacksonville; one granddaughter, Adrian Paluga, of Fayetteville; and two great grandchildren, Brenna and Bella.
