Lois F. Nichols
Lois Elizabeth Franklin Woods Nichols, 84, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at her daughter, Pamela W. Smith’s, home.
A celebration of life will be announced for immediate family only.
She was born May 19, 1928, in Marlboro County, S.C., to William Henry and Mae Belle Blue Franklin. Lois met Roy Leon Woods while he was stationed at Camp Mackall. They later married during World War II. After their first child was born they moved to Robinson, Illinois. Lois and Roy had 3 children together; Leon Woods, Pamela Woods Smith and Bruce Woods. She was predeceased by Roy on May 6, 1984.
She was also predeceased by one son, Bruce Woods, on Sept. 19, 2000, who was married to Mel Woods, currently of Oblong, Ill. She is survived by one son, Leon Woods, of Oblong, Ill., and his ex-wife, Karen Woods, and their son, Steve Woods; one daughter, Pamela Woods Smith and her husband, Richard W. Smith, of Hoffman, and their daughter, Angela Elizabeth Smith Crabtree and her husband, Scott Gray Crabtree, of Aberdeen, and their one son, Tyler Gray Crabtree; and two brothers, Lewis Franklin, of Burlington, and Lentz Franklin of Durham.
In addition to her first husband Roy and son Bruce, she was also predeceased by her second husband, Lewis Nichols, on Aug. 16, 2006.
Lois was a devoted Christian and loved her church family at First Baptist Church in Aberdeen. A dear saint that will be missed by all. She loved people and was always trying to help persons in need.
Lois had a beautiful spirit that was supportive of each and every person she met, always giving to persons and giving comforting words of encouragement.
