Glenn E. Reitzel Jr., 82, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge Retirement Community. He was the husband of Ann, whom he married on Dec. 29, 1954, and shared a life for 58 years.
A memorial service honoring Mr. Reitzel’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, in the Chapel at River Landing, Colfax.
Mr. Reitzel was born in Highland Park, Mich., to the late Glenn Sr. and Elva (Cable) Reitzel. He attended Albion College in Albion, Mich., and went on to graduate from Michigan State University in 1953. After college, Mr. Reitzel went to work for IBM, where he stayed until his retirement in 1989.
He and his wife were members of The Village Chapel in Pinehurst and the Three Lakes Rod and Gun Club in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. Mr. Reitzel enjoyed playing golf throughout his life. Glenn and Ann retired to Pinehurst, where he was a member of the Pinehurst Golf Club.
His family was very important to him, and he cherished the time spent with them.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Reitzel is survived by one daughter, Jocelyn and husband, James, of San Francisco; two sons, Glenn (Win) of Pennington, N.J., and Andrew, of Plainsboro, N.J.; and one sister, Phyllis Ross, of Seattle. He was preceded in death by his parents.
