Cathleen Ann Powell, 80, of Southern Pines, passed Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
No services are planned at this time.
Mrs. Powell was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Elkhart, Ind., to the late Roy and Aleta (Steinburger) Burkhead. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord Ellis Powell, in September 2011. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Burkhead; and her twin sister, Catherine Hardy.
Mrs. Powell is survived by a son, Paul Barber, Jr.; three daughters, Cindy Lapekes, Deb Czarnopis, and Edie Long; and a sister, Marilyn Starner, of Pinehurst.
