Edna Gibson Dunn, 86, of West End, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Abingdon, Va.
Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Middlecross Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Reynolds and Pastor Sherrell Dunn officiating. Burial followed in the West End Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dunn was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Richmond County, the daughter of Thomas Alfred and Bertha Ellen Saunders Gibson. She had worked at Carolina Eye Associates in medical records and transport.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Dunn; and a great-grandson, Corey Dunn.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. “Bobby” Dunn, of the home; a son, Pastor Sherrell Dunn and wife, Yvonne, of Meadowview, Va.; a brother, T.C. Gibson and wife, Blanche, of West End; a sister, Brenda Ritter and husband, Clement, of Jackson Springs; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
