Karen Leigh Odgers, 56, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, following a brief illness.
Karen grew up in Burlington, and attended Appalachian State University. She owned and operated Karen Leigh Odgers Jewelry Designs with her husband, Artemus Autlav, based out of Franklin.
She and special friend and former husband, Larry Daugherty, owned and operated The Ice Cream Parlor in Southern Pines for 22 years. Karen was always passionate about arts and design and loved the Appalachian Mountains. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Artemus Autlav; daughter, Meredith Daugherty and granddaughter, Brielle; son, Matthew Daugherty and wife, Danielle; mother, Dorothy Odgers; sister, Judy Smith and husband, Harry; and nieces Kathryn Simpson and Briana Atwell. She is also survived by three stepdaughters, Stephanie Jenkins, Rachael Leming and Elizabeth Allison Autlav; one stepson, Anteus Vladmir Autlav; and two step-grandchildren, Kristen and Gavin Jenkins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Macon County or Moore County Schools arts departments.
