Sue D. Robertson

Sue Dunn Robertson, 94, a resident of Carolina House in Pinehurst, and a former resident of Cypress Drive in Henderson, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in Pinehurst.
Born Oct. 12, 1918, in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William J. Dunn and Geneva Weldon Dunn, and was the widow of Woodrow W. Robertson.
Mrs. Robertson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, having taught for 25 years in the adult, intermediate and Dorothy Currin Sunday School classes, and was a former member of the Sue Kelly Missionary Circle.
She was also a former member of the James B. White Chapter of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Daughters of 1812. She was a member of the former Henderson Woman’s Club, board of directors of the Vance County Cancer Society, of which she served as president, and the Granville County Genealogy Society.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery, with Dr. Marion D. Lark and the Rev. David Helms officiating. The family received friends Thursday from 12 until 1 p.m. at J. M. White Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Eaves Robertson and husband, Tony, of Aberdeen; two grandsons, Anthony Craig Robertson Jr. and Andrew Wilson Robertson; and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361-0338; and to FirstHealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
