Esther Dowd, 97, of Candor, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at FirstHealth Hospice House, in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at St. Peters United Church of God, Eastwood community, Pinehurst. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the Simon Funeral Home chapel, Southern Pines. Burial will be in Eastwood Community Cemetery, Pinehurst.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Dowd, and his wife, Lucille; seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews
