SCHIRMER

Chester William Schirmer, born March 22, 1928, died peacefully at his home Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.
“Chet” was the CEO of Schirmer Engineering Corporation, chairman of the board for NFPA, and an active member of Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst. He was involved with Habitat for Humanity, a member of Tin Whistles, and a lifetime member of the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William and Alice Evelyn Schirmer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Jean Schirmer; a son, Peter Robert Schirmer; three daughters, Susan Wynn Brooks, Catherine Anne Schirra and husband, Charles Nicholas Schirra, and Christine Lynn Hall and husband, Kim Hall; his grandchildren, Cara Jean Wingfield, Jonah Chet Myers, William Peter Myers, Daniel Paul Myers, Peter Francis Schirra, Charles William Schirra, Thomas Andrew Schirra, Catherine Nichole Schirra, Alice Wynn Hall and Benjamin Peter Schirmer; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private service with family and friends will be held.
