Roger Ervin “Buddy” Williamson, 71, of Carthage, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Scott McInnis officiating.
Buddy was born Jan. 5, 1942, in Carthage, to Herbert Brooks and Myrtle Hardister Williamson. He was a self-employed painter and an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed going on cruises and watching the sunset.
He especially enjoyed his family. He was a loving father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by three children, Anquinetta Wilkes and husband, James, of Candor, Scott Williamson and wife, Jannie, of Carthage, and Ronda Taylor and husband, Danny, of Carthage; eight grandchildren, Marie, Justin, Zack, Hunter, Ryan, Brook, Trevor and Carly; and one great-grandchild, Jason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Brooks and Myrtle Hardister Williamson; his wife, Sylvia Maddox Williamson; and a daughter, Martha Ann Williamson.
The family would like to send a very special thank-you to his caregiver Paul Sullivan.
