Catherine A. Dembnicki, 89, of Elmcroft of Southern Pines, passed peacefully Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, in Southern Pines, with Msgr. Jeffrey A. Ingham officiating. Burial will follow at Pinebluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Boles Funeral Home, Southern Pines.
Catherine was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the St. Anthony’s Women’s Guild. She was a member of the St. Joseph Guild, where she was the St. Joseph of the Pines 2007 volunteer of the year. She was a member of the Rainmakers and the Knollwood-Midland Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dembnicki; and a son, Steven Dembnicki, of Southern Pines.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Dembnicki and wife, Linda, of Albuquerque, and Jack Dembnicki and wife, Melissa, of Seven Lakes; a daughter-in-law, Jan Dembnicki, of Southern Pines; a sister, Peggy Sherow, of Lewes, Del.; and grandchildren, Greg, David (wife Cindy), Ryan and Lauren Dembnicki.
