Bobbie Carl Cox, 75, of Carthage, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at his home.
A home-going celebration was held on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m., at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Steve Johnson and Evangelist David Bibey officiating. Burial followed at Cameron Community Cemetery will military honors. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Cox was born Dec. 31, 1937, to Charles Milton and Hulda Elizabeth Rogers Cox, and was retired from the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Cox loved life, and some of his happiest times were spent hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years (two weeks shy of 56 years), Virginia Carol Collier Cox, of Carthage; five children, Bobbie Milton Cox and wife, Mary Ellen Neuhauser, of Carthage, Donna Cox Morgan Black and husband, Greg, of Seagrove, Billie Carl Cox and wife, Susan Ryder, of Dover, Del., Catherine Cox Freeman and husband, Mark, of Carthage, and Charles Allen Cox and companion, Patty Grooms, of Cameron; one brother, Kenneth Cox, of Iowa; four sisters, Carol Jean Seefeldt, of Colorado, Glenda Workman, of Florida, and Judy Cox and Nancy Clay of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Milton and Hulda Elizabeth Rogers Cox; two sister, Betty Delphia and Marian Bailey; and two brothers, Thomas Cox and Jerry Lee Cox.
