Jack Russell Krough, 88, of Matthews, formerly of Pinehurst, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Trinity Christian Fellowship Church, The O’Neal School, Hannah Bradshaw Building, 3300 Airport Road, Southern Pines.
Mr. Krough was born April 1, 1924, in Minneapolis, the son of the late George William and Clara Peterson Krough.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Krough served during World Ware II in France as a paratrooper. He was a retired, self-employed commercial artist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Blair Kendall Krough and Jay Randolph Krough.
Mr. Krough is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Kendell Nothaker Krough; daughters, Judi Carole Vogt and Joanie Barbara Davis; sister, Lois Newby; and grandsons, Christopher, Jordan, Conner, Alex and Jack.
