Philip Parker Hoffman
Retired Master Sgt. Philip Parker Hoffman, 62, of Whispering Pines, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Christ Fellowship Church, with Pastor Jim Thyne officiating.
Philip (Phil) was born Sept. 6, 1950, in Alexandria, Va. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1969, was a Vietnam War veteran and served in the Special Forces until retiring in 1993.
Phil was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, the Special Forces Association, the Moore County Wild Life and Conservation Club, and attended Christ Fellowship Church, where he was active with the Youth Group.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Garmon Hoffman; his father, Raymond Parker Hoffman; and his sister, Meredith Lydia Hoffman. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Barnes Hoffman; sons, David Raymond Hoffman and Michael Parker Hoffman; daughter, Melissa Renee Hoffman; and his brother, Stephen Mark Hoffman and his wife, Sue Broughton.
