Robert H. Schultz

Robert Henry Schultz, 85, of Asheboro, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Clapp’s Nursing Center, in Asheboro.
A graveside service will be held on at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Seven Lakes Cemetery in Seven Lakes, with Pastor Mark Edwin Ryman officiating.
Mr. Schultz was born Sept. 30, 1926, in East Meadow, N.Y., to the late Peter Schultz and Rose (Eisenhauer) Schultz. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Smithtown, N.Y., Masonic Lodge and the Frankenberger Society in Queens, N.Y. He resided in Seven Lakes from 1988 to 2010 and was a founding member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pinehurst.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elsie Schultz, in 2010. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Peter Schultz.
He is survived by his two sons, Douglas Schultz and wife, Meg, of Asheboro, and Stephen Schultz of Greenwich, Conn.; and one grandson, Erik Schultz, of Asheboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart and Stroke Foundation, 4217 Parkplace Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060; or to the building fund of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 505 South Park St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
