Paul F. Lee

Paul F. Lee, 83, of Whispering Pines, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines, with a reception to follow.
He was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Lee enlisted in the Air Force in 1950 and served in the Korean War as a flight engineer, crew chief and technical instructor of courses pertaining to jet aircraft. Upon discharge in 1957, he worked for Jack and Heintz Corp. in Warrensville, Ohio, as a field service engineer and later as a contract analyst and sales engineer.
He married Mary Koneval and moved to Shalersville, Ohio, in 1960. He joined Clevite Corp. in Bedford, Ohio, and worked as a technical services assistant in the field of piezoelectric ceramics. Later he left to organize Specialized Electronics, a company that designed and manufactured automated equipment.
In 1977 he earned a bachelor of science degree at Kent State University and taught math and vocational electronics at Maple Heights High School in Maple Heights, Ohio. In 1980 he returned to the industry as a sales engineer for Vernitron Corp. in Bedford, Ohio. He was sales manager at Channel Products in Wilson Mills, Ohio, from 1983 to 1985.
He moved to Whispering Pines in 1993 where he was semiretired, spending part of his time doing commercial and domestic remodeling.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; two sons, Robert S., wife Isabel, and their sons Devin and Trevor, and son Michael F., wife Christine, and their children, Michael, wife Amber, and great-grandson Colton, daughter Katherine, and son Nicholas.
