Michael Don Mabe, 47, of Asheboro, died suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Randolph Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery, 2527 Dover Church Road, Seagrove, with Dr. Don Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.
Mr. Mabe was a native of Montgomery County. Mike was a 1983 graduate of East Montgomery High School, attended N.C. State University, and was a graduate of High Point University and Sandhills College. He was employed as a field inspector with SEPI Engineering and was a member of Dover Baptist Church.
Mike was a loving father, husband and son. He was active at the YMCA in Asheboro and loved the N.C. State Wolfpack. Mike enjoyed people, never met a stranger, and was full of life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Mabe. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Price Mabe; son, Nicholas Mabe, of Pinehurst; stepdaughter, Krista Kiefer, of Asheboro; stepson, Matthew Kiefer, of Asheboro; mother, Judith Myrick Mabe, of Seagrove; brother, Tim Mabe, of Durham; mother-in-law, Phyllis Price, of Asheboro; and best friend, David Peters, of Star.
