Mary Buchanan Futrell, 80, of Southern Pines, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at her residence.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gregg Newton officiating. Burial followed at New Home Baptist Cemetery. A visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
She was born June 9, 1932, in Lee County, to the late Malcom and Mimmie Buchanan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Garland Futrell; and son James G. Futrell.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey M. Futrell, of Southern Pines; and six grandchildren.
