Willie F. Babson

Willie Stancil Feather Babson, 75, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the Hospice Home.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at St. James United Methodist Church, 3808 St. James Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27604, with the family to visit following the service. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Bethesda Cemetery, Aberdeen.
Willie was born in Moore County Sept. 18, 1937, to the late Clifton Stancil and Gertrude Woodard Stancil. She worked for N.C. Petroleum Marketers Association for 43 years, eventually coordinating their petroleum and convenience store trade show. She was a courageous woman whose concern was always for others, and she never complained.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Feather Overton (Doug), of Raleigh; son, Clifford A. Feather (Laura), of Apex; grandchildren, Tess, Anna and Andrew Overton, and Elizabeth and James Feather; brother Joel Stancil (Nycie), of Aberdeen; and the father of her children, Cliff Feather, of Cary.
In addition to her parents, Willie was preceded in death by her brother James Stancil; and her husband, Ogden S. Babson.
Willie requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 3808 St. James Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27604, or the Autism Society of N.C., 505 Oberlin Road, Suite 230, Raleigh, NC.
