Wilford Avent Holt, 80, of Cameron, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at his residence.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at 870 Pine Forrest Road in Cameron. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Wayside Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Betty Sherrod officiating. Burial will follow at Cameron Town Cemetery.
Mr. Holt was born April 9, 1932, in Harnett County, to the late James Walter Holt and Lizzie Avent Holt.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mabel Louise Holt and Rebecca Campbell Holt; a son, Daniel Holt; sisters, Jessie Lee Prince, Grace H. Graham, Vernelle H. Johnson and Elnora H. Turner; and brothers, James Milton Holt, Woodrow Holt, Walter “Junie” Holt, Ray Holt and Jimmie C. Holt.
Mr. Holt is survived by a son, Howard Thomas Holt and wife, Paula, of Cameron; three daughters, Kathryn McCain and husband, Clay, of Cameron, Susan Holt, of Cameron, and Sharyn Holt, of Sanford; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
