Gerald R. Chamberlin
Gerald Raymond Chamberlin, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, of Whispering Pines, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at his home.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
He was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Lewis and Ariel Mainwaring Chamberlin. He owned and operated Chamberlin Funeral Home Inc. in Dansville, N.Y., from 1945 to 1985. While in Dansville he was very involved with the community through Rotary, Elks, Masons, Chamber of Commerce, Livingston County Planning Board and chairman of Noyes Memorial Hospital Building Committee.
Upon retirement, Gerald moved to Whispering Pines, where he enjoyed golf, woodworking and sunsets with Marie, and they shared love and commitment to Union Pines Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Reardon Chamberlin, of Whispering Pines; his sister, Betty Nelson, of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter, Cheryl Chamberlin Kelley, of Lexington, Mass.; a son, Lee Chamberlin and wife, Donna; five grandchildren, Gerald R. Chamberlin II, of Dansville, N.Y., Karen Kelley of Boston, Brittany Chamberlin Martin, of Westport, Conn., and Brandon Chamberlin, of Battle Ground, Wash.; and great-grandson, Campbell Gerald Martin, of Westport.
