Margaret A. Nutter
Margaret A. “Peg” (Hawver) Nutter, formerly of Needham and Hingham, Mass., died Saturday, Oct 6, 2012, in Richmond Va.
A private family service will be held.
She was the daughter of the late Margaret (Bridgeford) and Harley Daniel Hawver, who was the Methodist minister at Newton Center Methodist Church and a district superintendent for the Methodist Church of Boston.
Peg was a resident of Needham for more than 40 years. She graduated from Newton High School and Boston University. Peg and her husband, Pete, were married in 1951 and were married for more than 50 years. Upon their retirement, they moved to West End, where she lived for more than 20 years until Pete’s death. She then moved back to Hingham.
Peg and Pete enjoyed many years at Pocasset, Mass., on Cape Cod, where she enjoyed summertime vacations with her family. She worked as an administrative assistant at Wellesley Jr. High School and enjoyed golf, the arts, the Red Sox, bridge, cribbage and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband, Denton G. “Pete” Nutter Jr. She is survived by her son Brad Nutter and his wife, Loren, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her daughter Marcia Fryer and her husband, Dan, of Richmond, Va.; her son Tom Nutter and his fiancee, Karen Constantino, of Duxbury; her grandchildren Ross Fryer and his wife Shannon, Richard Fryer, Pete Fryer, Kristin Nutter and Kathryn Nutter; and her sister-in-law Marion Nutter, of Eden Prairie, Minn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown MA 02472.
