John Milton White, 78, of Pinehurst, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Powell Funeral Home, in Southern Pines. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Deep Creek Baptist Church, 1995 Linden Road, Aberdeen, with the Rev. Bryan Maness officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
He was born in Bluefield, W.Va., to the late Hugh and Rachel White. For 23 years, Mr. White was the director of the Wilson Greene Mental Health Center in Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra P. White, of Pinehurst; two sons, John M. White III and Hugh E. White and wife, Michelle; and two grandchildren, Rachel Arin White and William Davis White. He is also survived by his sister, Betty W. Duke, of Raleigh.
