Gary David Boothe
Gary David Boothe, 72, of Seven Lakes, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at West End Presbyterian Church, in West End, with the Rev. Larry Lyon and the Rev. Chip Pope officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow the service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, in Spring Lake.
He was born April 4, 1940, in Phenix City, Ala., to Ocie Chilton Boothe Jr. and Jimmie Hulette Abernathy Boothe. He retired after 21 years of service to his country in the United States Army. After his military career, he worked for Lockheed Martin and Sprint. He was a member of West End Presbyterian Church and loved sports, gardening and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Adelaide Flagg Boothe, of Seven Lakes; a daughter, Tracy D. Labbe and husband, Jeffery, of Parkton; a son, Todd A. Boothe and wife, Jane, of Cincinnati; his mother, Jimmie Hulette Abernathy Boothe, of Columbus, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ocie Chilton Boothe Jr., in 1968; and his brother, Charles Richard Boothe.
